Ready, Set, Travel!

Ready, Set, Travel!

I’m no expert by any means, but I’ve definitely done a fair share of traveling in my life so far. As I gear up for another trip, here are some tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way!

  1. Book your flights on Tuesdays. This is one of the most common travel tips but in my experience it definitely does help! Flights are significantly cheaper on Tuesdays, in turn saving you money that you could put towards excursions or activities at your travel destination!

  2. Pack your passport first and make sure you have all of your documentation prepared at least a month before you go on your trip, The last thing you need is to realize someone has an expired passport or the visa isn’t ready on time. It adds to the stress of traveling and can be avoided by simply planning ahead

  3. Make lists. A packing list, To Do List, anything you can think of, make a list for it. I prefer to do this on my phone which I always have on hand so I never forget. As soon as I book trips (being the paranoid planner that I am) I start noting things down that I will need to pack or need to do before my trip. With so much going on as your trip nears it really helps to already know what you need rather than trying to remember off the top of your head and inevitably forgetting something super important. About a week or 2 before the trip I will start marking off my list, gathering what needs to be packed and running all of my errands, like getting cash, cleaning, etc.

  4. Leave your home spotless. I for one can make a mess when I’m scrambling to prepare for a trip, but if you’re able to, give yourself some time to tidy up, put some new sheets on the bed, clean the bathroom, doing any remaining laundry, and so on. The feeling of coming home to a clean and inviting space after a long trip is unmatched. Personally, the last thing I want is to come back to a cluttered bedroom. It will make the end of your trip that much more relaxing!

  5. Always keep some kind of instant meal or protein bars handy. You never know when you might want a quick snack or a flight may get delayed/cancelled. Or you might just want something to hold you over until your next meal at your destination.

As I’m finally back from my latest trip these tips proved to be extremely handy, and I hope these help you as well!
